Dialysis is an artificial replacement for lost kidney function.  It maintains the body’s water, sodium, potassium and other minerals, while removing certain toxins from the body.

There are two types of dialysis, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. AccessCare uses hemodialysis, a water filtration system and individual dialysis stations.  These dialysis stations filter the blood in a treatment period lasting three to five hours per treatment.  The typical patient receives three treatments per week.
